Portland’s Japanese Garden

Today we went to the Japanese Garden in Portland which (according to the literature we were given when entering) is one of the best examples of a Japanese garden outside of Japan. The grounds were beautiful and offered a nice view of the downtown skyline and Mt. Hood. It amazes me how green everything was given that we visited in February. We plan on returning in the summer when more of the plants are in bloom.

We took several pictures that can be seen here.

  1. Those are good photos of the Japanese garden. It looks like you were in Japan and reminds me of a garden/castle I went to in Kyoto (pictures of which are here: http://japan.aranami.net/pictures/02.html). Now you just need to post some photos of your place! :)

Have fun back in Milwaukee…I’m sorry you have to go back there, but at least it shouldn’t be for too long. ;)

  2. Thanks.

The pictures could use some lightening since it was overcast the day we took them. The garden was beautiful, I can’t wait to go back in the summer and see it in full bloom.

Milwaukee isn’t so bad, however, it is weird to go back to a place that I lived for 20+ years and not feel at home. I’ll probably make a blog entry out of this…
