Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life
Heather and I indulged in a few hours of escapism and saw Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life on Saturday. As expected the movie was light on plot and essentially was a big budget episode of Relic Hunter sans the requisite secret society - granted Lara Croft foiled the Illuminati’s plans in the prior film. This time around Lara is off to find Pandora’s box and practices her patented method of archeology which consists mostly of destroying ancient things. For this go-round there were less amazingly sophisticated traps / puzzles built by ancient people and instead lots of action / stunts. Unfortunately the action sequences weren’t terribly exciting nor were the stunts amazing.
This movie most likely won’t win any awards but it did provide a few hours of mindless entertainment.
