Underworld
I just got back from seeing Underworld and I must say I was very impressed. I had some misgivings going to see this film since the reviews have been mixed and I’m not a fan of the vampire genre since most works tend to have the same set of tired cliches.
I thought the storyline was captivating providing a surprising depth for this genre of film. The trailer left me thinking it would be a retread of Romeo & Juliet with vampires and werewolves. Instead it was a story of xenophobia, revenge, and the struggle for power set against a feud between species that has raged for centuries.
I thought the pacing was excellent as well - there is a good mix of both action and plot with neither making the film drag. The action scenes were depicted in a realistic visceral fashion keeping it both believable and interesting. The cinematography was superb as well creating an overall atmosphere that reminded me of a cross between the Crow and the first Batman film.

Overall this was a movie that oozes style and has an engaging plot. It is easily one of the best films I’ve seen so far this year.
I love Keat she is wonderful
