I joined a gym tonight.
Heather has been going for a week so I figured it was time I get off my ass and do something to shed my excess girth.

Hey Jon, so did you guys get all moved yet? How did it go? I hope your move went well and you are all settled in your new place. I myself am going to make a move of around 550 miles north from where I am now in Japan and I’m not looking forward to it. You have to post some photos of your new house all set up with your stuff! It’s a good idea to get out to the gym…it’s something I should do as well but have been too lazy to do lately. Anyway, I’m glad your blog is back.
Yes we got moved ok – we are still living out of boxes but hopefully we will be unpacked soon. I’ll try and post some pictures of our place soon.

So how it is there? The one time I thought about joining my local 24 Hour Fitness, they really were pushing the high pressure sales thing. Did they do that to you? Any likes/dislikes of the place?

Surprisingly I find that enjoy my local 24 Hour Fitness. Since my wife and sister were already existing members they didn’t really do much of a sales pitch for me. When I met with a trainer for an orientation he hit me up for getting individual sessions – “to get the most out of my membership” – but since I just bought a house I just don’t have the extra money to afford them at the moment. He wasn’t pushy at all. I do intend on signing up for some once I have some extra money, unfortunately they are kinda pricey.
Overall I like the place much more than I thought I would. The facilities and equipment are nice. There is a range of people at the gyp so I don’t feel self conscious about being out of shape.

Cool, perhaps I’ll look into it myself again (it’s been over two years, so…). I’m especially glad to hear that there is a range of people there, because that seems to be one of the biggest problems people have when going to work out (they’re working out next to someone who looks like Mr. Universe).
