Consumerism

This afternoon Heather and I decided to do out part to help the economy and go shopping. While we had intended to get a start on our holiday gift shopping we ended up just getting things four ourselves. One of the impulse buys I succumbed to was picking up the set of Clerks Inaction Figures based upon Kevin Smith’s Mallrats. Sad to say there isn’t a La Fors figure.

One funny thing that occurred was that I ended up getting a portrait done by an artist. I was waiting for Heather to finish browsing in a pet store and an artist who had a stand nearby asked if he could draw my portrait. I told him I wasn’t interested but he said he would do it for free. Since I was just sitting there anyway I figured what the hell. The portrait actually turned out pretty well. Once I unpack my scanner I’ll post a copy online.

Thanksgiving

Heather, Amanda, and I were able to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal this afternoon. Since neither Heather nor I are terribly fond of turkey we elected to have ham this year. As I sit in a post meal coma I wanted to take a minute to reflect on some of the things I am thankful for:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Zombies!!!

Last night Heather picked up Zombies!!!, a tabletop game where you compete to try and escape a zombie hoard. Battling the undead has never been so much fun :)

Adventures with Bluetooth

I finally found my Bluetooth dongle (it was still packed away from our recent move) so I decided to try and give it a go with my Nokia 3650 smart phone. Unfortunately not all Bluetooth adapters were created equally.

Home Improvement

Today, I took advantage of the time off I had for the holiday (one of the benefits of working for a bank) and completed a few home improvement items I’ve been meaning to get too. We finally installed the rods and hung the drapes in our dining room. I also spent the afternoon wiring and mounting the rear surround speakers in my living room.
