Hidalgo
March 23rd, 2004
Heather and I went to see Hidalgo last night. I found it to be an unremarkable film based upon an interesting story. The motivation of the protagonist is never fleshed out clearly and instead we are left to watch an adoption of the plot of Rocky IV set in the 1890’s. Viggo bests the Arab culture with his will and determination just like how Rocky single handedly beat the Soviets. Watching it unfold on screen was equally absurd this time around.
Considering the source material is under scrutiny, I am not surprised by the lack of interest from audiance members or my friends with good taste such as yourself.
Wish this text didn’t have such a habit of disapearing, even when highlighting. Have to view it through source sometimes, its the price I pay for blogage.
Some swank ass pics below BTW.
Hidalgo just seemed dull to me.
My site has problems being rendered with IE due to IE’s shitty CSS compliance. Redesigning it to be more IE friendly is on my list of things to do, however, I’ve been busy of late so I haven’t got around to it yet. Right now you either need to suffer through or get a better browser such as Mozilla Firefox
Glad you liked the pictures. There are quite a few cool spots here in Oregon.
