Reflections on 2004

I can’t believe it is the end of 2004 already. Looking back this has been a great year for me both personally and professionally. Along the way I managed to achieve a few significant things too like spending my first entire year as a home owner and finally graduating college. I am hopeful for what 2005 has in store for Heather and I.

Tonight we are going to be spending new years eve with friends. I hope that 2005 is as good to you all as 2004 has been to me.

SSL-Explorer

Yesterday 3SP released an updated release candidate of SSL-Explorer, their GPLed SSL VPN application, which now includes support for use through HTTP proxies. I have been using an older version of it for a while and can’t say enough good things about it. 3SP rocks for making it freely available under the GPL - in my opinion it is already a better product that the “enterprise” class (and priced) SSL VPN appliance we use at work.

I need to get the 1.5 JRE working on my Gentoo box here at home before I can upgrade though.

WordPress 1.5

If they were Sun it would probably be called version 5.0 instead of 1.5 :)
