RIP Dead Like Me

January 7th, 2005

I was searching the web tonight to see if I could find some information on when the third season of Showtime’s Dead Like Me would air. Unfortunately it looks like it won’t be returning for a third season. Bastards!

Dead Like Me

I find this a huge disappointment as it was one of the few shows on television I truly looked forward to watching every week. I thought it managed to be poignant and entertaining at the same time. While the second season finale wasn’t a cliff hanger it did leave a number of plot threads dangling. I still wonder what the writers had in mind for Crystal, there seemed to be a lot of hints throughout the two seasons that she was also a reaper or something along those lines. Oh well I guess I’ll never know.

It pisses me off when I start to get interested in a series it seems to get canceled. Showtime better not go and cancel Bullshit! too or I’ll be pissed.

hey… i just got off the phone with IO cable and they said that dead like me 3rd season will be airing in march. that’s what the operator told me, so i’m hoping he was right. dead like me is the best… i’d be so pissed if they did cancel it.

Well I guess we can hope. I don’t see anything about season 3 at the actual DLM web site yet…

Most of the time I can tell if a series isn’t going to last very long, but the fact that Dead Like Me isn’t going to be returning to the air really caught me by surprise. I don’t think that the last episode on season 2 wasn’t enough to end the series. We should write Showtime!!

I was sad to see DLM go but at this point I don’t think it has much hope of returning to the air. Other than Bullshit! there isn’t much reason to watch Showtime anymore.

I made a mistake on my last comment!! I mean to say that i Don’t think that the last episode WAS enough to end the series.

Well I totally agree that this show really rocked and after a few shows me and my friend were totally hooked. If any finds out for sure whether or not it is cancelled or it isn’t email at grudge_factor@yahoo.com.

That sucks. A friend let me borrow the first season then the second season on dvd and we totally got hooked on it. It seemed kind of short lived for such a well written show. I found it really disappointing because I was becoming really entraced with the characters - oh well perhaps they will come to their senses and start season 3. They have done that before like when Sliders went from FOX to the Sci-fi channel.

I am extremely annoyed. Foxtel was showing this in Australia on FOX8 and I was hooked. I ordered the box sets from USA and love the show. Ready for Season 3 I went to the web and its all done and dusted.

I have been searching online for any new news as to a Season 3 pick up or dedicated web sites, but cant find much. Are there any new petitions going, can we do anything else?

Shame on the network for dropping this show. Its a great show and we miss it.

I can only agree…one of the best series ever…why do they kill everything thats groundbreaking? Like Arrested Development. WHY O WHY did they cancell a award winning serier like that?

About the plots that was dangling: yes, it wasnt a cliffhanger but omg i got frustrated when i got to understand that season 3 was cancelled.

feels like a punch in the stomach

yeahh i`m madd as fcuk too about them cancelling DLM. i have the first two seasons on DVD. and i watch them over and over again. it pisses me off cause there are alot of unanswer questions i have. like, what is Rube’s past - why and how did he die. will mason ever grow? and will mason and daisy actually get together. what’s going to happen to George’s family? will Joy get with the jamaican guy, or will she get back with Clancy? Reggie’s dog died, will she get a new pet. and at the end of season 2, reggie saw George. will she tell her mother she saw her? and would she believe? i seriously believe that it should be put back on the air. the show was spunky and witty. and it made you really think about life and death. yeah, i`m writing alot. but this is just showing my disappointment and admiration for the show.

    Hey Peggy,

Where did you read that they filmed anything past season 2? I wasn’t aware that there were any unreleased episodes.

Do you suppose that they’ll pick this series up again now that the sci-fi channel has picked it up? I mean, with a new channel, maybe there’ll be a renewed interest in it. Although, that channel tends to pick up series that are doomed. :(

  16. October 26th, 2006 at 11:42 | #16

Maybe if there is enough interest they might pick the series up for new episodes. At least Sci-Fi is carrying the “new” Dr. Who :)

Unbelieveable!!!! Showtime has it’s collective head up it’s ass. To cancel such a popular show means they just aren’t paying attention. ALL OFF MY FRIENDS WATCH THIS SHOW!!. Many of us bought the first two seasons and were dying to see season three. SHOWTIME!! WAKE UP AND BRING DEAD LIKE ME BACK!!!!!!

I just finished watching season’s one and two… Even though several of the actors have moved on to new contracts, and the outlook is grim; I will always be waiting for season three.

I know I am late and all but I was watching a Dead like me marathon on sci-fi a couple of months ago and I was so happy to find a show I really like. It was funny and had meaning at the same time. And now I hear that there is NO third season, I just finish my season 2 DVD box set. What the heck am I going to do now!!!!! It will be missed!!

Hey i know this also may be very late but I started watching DLM (best ever)
a couple of months a go and I got totaly hooked to.
And I watched both seasons and started looking for season 3 but there was nothing.
But I found allot of comments about it and I seriously can`t understand how the producers can be so ignorant and just ignor the fact that so many people want the show back and actually cancels thei network subscritions because they protest and such.
Someone really should do something about this.
