Game Crazy rules
November 22nd, 2006
The manager of my local Game Crazy called tonight to let me know they already were restocked with Wii consoles!
Since my plans to pick one up on launch day fell through this was welcome news. I am now the happy owner of a Wii
As an added bonus I was able to trade in my Cube for an extra 50% towards the price of the Wii. So far the Wii is awesome. Wii Sports is a ton of fun - I actually bowl better on the Wii then I do in real life. I also picked up a copy of Zelda and Monkey Ball; however, I haven’t had time to play them yet.
I bowl better on the Wii, too!! We rented Monkeyball and have played a couple of the games– I don’t like it as much as the previous Monkeyballs, to be honest. We downloaded the original Zelda, which is still fun, but Nate hasn’t gotten the new one yet– I think he’s going to rent it first. Hooray for the Wii!!
I picked up Monkeyball and was really disappointed with it, the controls on the minigames are horrid. It also doesn’t have monkey pool which is what Heather and I enjoyed most about the GC version of the game. I plan on trading it in for credit towards the new Castlevania on the DS.
The new Zelda is a bunch of fun - the controls are pretty intuitive after playing for a few minutes. It reminds me a lot of the Wind Waker (or any other Zelda) but with a graphical facelift. I am only about 10 hours into it (I play when Aria naps) but so far its been a blast. Excite Truck is awesome! I normally hate racing games but it seems well balanced and is a ton of fun to pickup and play for a few minutes.
