The guys from NiceMac.com released SiriusMac which is a Mac native Sirius satellite radio player for OS X. It even supports growl notifications for the current artist & song in the stream. The setup is a bit tricky compared to a typical Mac app but it sure beats the hell out of the web based Sirius player.
Kickass!
Thank you for the positve commentary on SiriusMac. We are working on a new version which will make the setup easier for the Mac user. It should be about in a couple weeks. In a few months, we hope to make it as easy as a double click to install. We’re not their yet, but we’re working on it.
Sincerely,
Goodtime
The pre-release of SiriusMac v1.1 is now available on nicemac.com to all our great donators and Sponsors. The final version of v1.1 will be available on siriusmac.com on July 4th, independence day.
v1.1 sports a bunch of new features which as artist and song alerts. The final will have an auto-jukebox feature. It will play all your greatest hits if it finds them and play the auto song all the way through before switching. The pre-release has an early verison called “auto,” but usually only works with one song or artist turned to auto at a time as it does not know yet and can switch continously. In other words, the final v1.1 will have better artificial intelligence.
Other features include user preferences, built-in mplayer, time-delayed set presets, preset tooltips of the channels that are set, cache settings for mplayer to prevent skips on playback, high/low bitrate settings if the user pays for the high bandwidth from Sirius.com, Canada login options (true/false), Sipie Configurator Login options via the GUI preferences, option to run Sipie via the Terminal or in the background, Options to still use VLC, clivlc or the built in mplayer, artist/song Alert Delay options (in seconds), Backup Tracker for artists and songs, Tracker connection timeout options (in seconds), double click on guide (on/off) options, a very uniqe song/alert editor under the Edit Alerts menu, updated show history menu option and probably one or two things that I left out.
The pre-release is available to all donators/sponsors as of May 20th, 2007 on nicemac.com. The final release will sport a brand new installer package and built in python configuration options via the SiriusMac GUI. v1.1 will be ready for prime-time on SiriusMac.com. Look for it July 4th.
Sincerely,
Goodtime

for v1.0 or 1.05 you need to setup and install a few things. Go to SiriusMac.com for more info.
@Jose
What version of SiriusMac are you trying to get working? The setup is pretty easy – if I get some time this week I”ll see if I can write up and post a quick guide.
If you are a contributer using version 1.1 check the NiceMac forums. I ran into a problem where the audio stream would be slow to start; however, this was fixed in an updated release of 1.1.
We are working on a Setup asst. that will be built into the Preference Pane that will have download links to the required and optional software plus more bullet proof setup scripts that should fix a lot of issues that Mac users have experience with SiriusMac.

SiruusMac v1.1 JaS Gold Master has been released, the best Sirius online companion for your Mac, is available for public download on http://www.SiriusMac.com. The direct URL to the website is http://vm.nicemac.com/SiriusMac/Welcome.html.
SiriusMac v1.1 is new and improved and includes a MacOS style package installer created by the one and only JaS. SiriusMac is a killer easy to use Sirius Radio player that blows away any Web browsing software that attempts to achieve the same thing. It’s GUI was designed by VizualMenace with programming by VizualMenace and Goodtime. SiriusMac includes an online guide, Auto Juke-Box™, user defined channel presets, artist and song alerts, user define preferences, ability to stream from VLC or Mplayer, and many many ways to switch stations.
SiriusMac is so intiuitive, its does everything, but read your mind. No wait it actually does that too with it’s new Auto Juke-Box™ feature. Select all your favorite songs and artists using the MEMO button with the Auto-switch option checked. Anytime that favorite song shows up on Sirius Satellite Radio, it will automatically switch to that station and play your favorite song or artist! SiriusMac will attempt to stay on that station until another Auto favorite shows up on the radar. SiriusMac does its best to play the entire song in Auto mode. It’s like having your own internet Radio Juke-box that plays the songs and artists you love and enjoy! Download SiriusMac v1.1 Gold Master today at only http://siriusmac.com.
Sincerely,
The SiriusMac Team
