Testing Sirius Mac 2

It works slick! The install is now “mac-like” with none of the manual steps that were required by 1.x. The only dependancy the it has is Apple’s X11 package, but after talking to VizualMenace I’m pretty sure that can be removed in a future release.
A general beta should be available in the next few days. Be sure to go donate and show some support for good Mac software.
SiriusMac 2.0
It seems there has been some drama recently surrounding SiriusMac and its future.
Fortunately Barry Walters, the original developer, is continuing on development of the project and plans to release version 2.0 shortly. He also has introduced XMac which is the equivalent player for those stuck with XM service. SiriusMac is a fantastic program and has found a permanent home on my dock – it gets almost as much use as the actual Sirius tuner in my car. The only feature I wish it had was Last.Fm support for scrobbling the current track being listed to.
Be sure to donate and show support for great Mac software.
Sirius Mac 1.1
The guys from NiceMac.com released the 1.1 version of SiriusMac. It adds a number of features to this already great app and had a new easier installer. I’ve been running the various beta releases for about a month and it rocks!
Ten Four Ten
The recent Mac OS X 10.4.10 update seems to have broke my Airport
When running off battery I can consistently reproduce a problem where the Airport connection will stop sending / receiving data after about 5-10 minutes of use. Putting it to sleep/wake or turning Airport off/on will sometimes fix the problem only to have it reoccur 5-10 minutes later. This also will pretty regularly be followed by a kernel panic.
From browsing the forums it looks like I’m not the only one having problems after the update. Strangely the issue does not seem to occur when running off AC power. Since I have an AppleCare contract I called this afternoon and got a case opened. The Level 2 tech I spoke with mentioned this was an “emerging issue” and that they would forward on my case and panic logs to Engineering for analysis. Hopefully a fix will be forthcoming soon.
UPDATE:
The recent Airport Extreme Update 2007-004 seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks Apple
