Cold Comedy Concoction
Last Sunday we had the opportunity to see our friends Erin and Nate act in Stark Raving Theater’s 2nd annual Cold Comedy Concoction. It is made up of four one-act comedies which were all quite funny. In case a night of comedy isn’t enough to pique your interest in local theater it is worth noting that one of the plays features some boobies - so get out and support Portland theater. You won’t be disappointed.
The show runs through January 14th.
The park that wasn’t there
One of the things I like about living in Oregon is that there is an abundance of parks and other natural sites to visit and enjoy. Heather and I spent a relaxing weekend in Seaside and since we were there we figured we would check out Fort Clatsop since it was only a short drive away. Since neither of us are native Oregonians we figured it would be neat to learn more about Lewis & Clark. The Fort (a replica) was destroyed by fire in October so our visit ended up being rather unremarkable. It is odd that the National Park Service neglects to point this out on their web site - my advice would be to skip it altogether since the attraction is gone.
October
I can’t believe it is October already. In keeping with tradition Heather and I went out to Suave Island to go find some pumpkins. Photographic evidence of the event can be found here.
I also got around to updating our photo gallery to Gallery 2.0. I have to give the development team major kudos as the both the upgrade and import process were surprisingly painless.
Trip Photos
All the photos we took on our vacation last week can be found in my photo gallery here. I really could use a better digital camera (and some photography skills) but at least the Crater Lake shots turned out well.
home again
Heather and I had a blast on our vacation to southern Oregon. Heather has a much more detailed account of our trip that can be found here. On our way back home today we stopped off at the Oregon Country Fair which was a lot of fun and a great place to people watch. There was a surprising (and pleasant) number of topless people wandering about the fair.
We took a ton of pictures throughout our trip that I’ll post tomorrow once I get the digital camera unloaded.
It burns
Judging from the crowd at my local Coffee People I am not the only one who is out trying to beat the heatwave here in Portland today. We seriously need AC at home.
